Transportation & Venue

We look forward to welcoming you to the DRD2026 Symposium at Fenerbahçe University. Our campus is centrally located in the Ataşehir district on the Asian side of Istanbul. Below are the most convenient ways to reach the symposium venue from various points in the city.

Arriving by Air

Istanbul is served by two major international airports.

1. Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW)
Asian Side (Approx. 25-35 km)
  • By Metro: You can take the M4 Metro Line directly from the airport terminal. Get off at the "Yenisahra" or "Kozyatağı" station. From there, the campus is just a 5-10 minute taxi ride away.
  • By Shuttle: The Havabüs airport shuttle runs regularly. You can take the shuttle heading to Kadıköy and get off at the "Yenisahra" stop, then take a short taxi ride to the campus.
  • By Taxi: A direct taxi ride from SAW to the university typically takes 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
2. Istanbul Airport (IST)
European Side (Approx. 55-65 km)
  • By Shuttle: The most convenient public option is the Havaist airport shuttle. Take the HVİST-14 (Kadıköy) line and get off at the "Yenisahra" stop. From Yenisahra, you can take a 5-minute taxi ride to the university.
  • By Taxi: A direct taxi ride from IST to the campus takes about 60-90 minutes, depending on bridge and highway traffic.

City Transportation

Public Transportation (Metro)

Istanbul has a highly efficient and widespread metro network. If you are staying in different parts of the city, you can use the rail system to get close to the campus:

  • M8 Line (Bostancı - Dudullu): Get off at the "Küçükbakkalköy" or "İçerenköy" stations. The campus is a short distance from these stops.
  • M4 Line (Kadıköy - Sabiha Gökçen): Get off at the "Yenisahra" station and transfer to a taxi or local minibus heading to Ataşehir.
Taxis & Ride-Hailing Apps

Taxis are widely available throughout Istanbul. For a seamless experience, we highly recommend downloading ride-hailing applications such as Uber or BiTaksi, which allow you to call official yellow or turquoise taxis, track your route, and see estimated fares.

Tip for Taxis: Fenerbahçe University is located right next to Metropol Istanbul Mall. If a driver is unfamiliar with the university's exact location, mentioning "Ataşehir Metropol" will perfectly guide them.
