On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our distinct pleasure to invite you to the International Multidisciplinary Symposium on Drug Research & Development (DRD 2026), which will be held on October 1–3, 2026, in the timeless and vibrant city of İstanbul.

This year, our symposium anchors its scientific program around a pressing global priority: “Infectious Diseases: Advances in Treatment and Innovations”. While modern medicine has achieved immense progress, the rapid emergence of novel pathogens, the spread of vectors driven by climate change, and the escalating threat of antimicrobial resistance remind us that our work is far from finished. DRD 2026 will serve as a dynamic nexus for basic and clinical scientists, medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, clinicians, regulatory authorities, and pharmaceutical industry leaders to explore cutting-edge therapeutic strategies and next-generation drug discovery.

Organized in proud collaboration with The Society of Researchers in Pharmacy and Medicine (ILARUD) - carrying forward its longstanding mission of fostering academic and institutional networking since 2008—this edition is hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Fenerbahçe University. Building upon the rich heritage of previous DRD meetings held across Türkiye, our goal is to generate a fruitful platform where diverse disciplines converge, recent breakthroughs are debated, and strong collaborative bridges are built.

Beyond a rigorous scientific agenda, the symposium offers the unique privilege of gathering in İstanbul. As a historic crossroads of three great empires and the literal meeting point of Europe and Asia, the city stands as the ultimate metaphor for our gathering: connecting different worlds to shape a shared scientific future.
